Concave Linear Motion Spline
The GJFG concave liner motion spline with flange spline nut has a round cross section. A larger journal diameter is allowed in its design than that of the convex spline. When the balls roll and circulate in the raceway and the ball return path, the spline nut and spline shaft are moving linearly.
The concave linear motion spline features compact structure and easy assembly. In addition, with the help of the retainer, balls will be kept in its place even if the spline shaft is drawn out of the nut. The spline shaft is made of HRC58 quenched alloy steel, and the spline nut is made of HRC58 quenched alloy steel or carburized and quenched alloy structural steel. The use of quality material helps achieve long service life and high hardness.
The concave linear motion spline is designed with precisely machined R-shaped groove, and the groove comes with a diameter approximate to that of the ball diameter. In this way, the contact area of the ball is increased to acquire higher load bearing capacity. Since the concave spline uses interference fit, the balls are able to evenly and smoothly transmit the torque coming from the spline shaft or the spline nut. As zero clearance or interference fit in the rotational direction is realizable, the concave spline is capable of operating in high speed straight motion and rotation.
The GJFG concave linear motion spline is commonly used in the spindle of spot welding machine, tool post, indexing shaft, arms of industrial robot, automatic loaders, measuring instrument, main shaft of automatic plotting machine, wire winders, and main shaft of packaging machine, etc.
