The most commonly used materials for sheet metal fabrication include galvanized sheets, cold/hot rolled sheets, brass/bronze/copper, aluminum, stainless steel sheets etc. Jiatong can handle all different materials in the market in consideration of product usage and cost savings or if you have any additional requirements.
1. Galvanized sheets (SECC, SGCC): Great rust and corrosion resistance but high cost, widely used for high-grade machine enclosures and cabinets.
2. Stainless steel sheets: Higher strength and corrosion resistance compared to regular steel sheets, suitable for laser cutting and bending. But stainless steel sheets are not ideal for pressing, punching and welding; we would recommend using other materials if you have higher requirements regarding complex product structures.
- 5052-H32 Aluminum alloy: commonly used material in sheet metal fabrication due to excellent corrosion resistance, strength, good formability and weldability.
- 6061-T6 Aluminum alloy: a multipurpose heat treatable aluminum alloy, great weldability, corrosion resistance and excellent strength.
- 2024 Aluminum alloy: higher strength and lighter weight compared to mild steel, great machinability, heat treatable but only fair corrosion resistance.
- 7075 Aluminum alloy: significant strength and light weight, superior corrosion resistance, is widely used in aviation parts manufacturing.
4. Cold rolled sheets（SPCC）：usually means cold rolled carbon steel sheets or strips with thickness less than 3.2mm, has good formability and weldability.
5. Other materials: brass/bronze/copper, hot rolled steel sheets, composite sheets or others; feel free to contact us if you have special requirements regarding your materials.
