Black silicon carbide grits are manufactured in an internal resistance furnace and a mixture of high purity silica sand and petroleum coke. The micro hardness of the product is 3100-3300 kg/mm2. The sharpness of the individual grains make it as an aggressive abrasives ideally suitable for use in vitrified, organic bonded abrasives, coated abrasives and loose abrasive applications in the refractories, metallurgical and general industrial markets. This material is available in grit sizes, micron sizes, split sizes.
