ApplicationThe BTA-S can form a thin film on the metal surface to protect copper, brass, bronze and other metals from corrosion. The migration of copper ions can catalyze aluminum and iron corrosion. Adding traces of BTA-S can prevent the migration of copper ions in cold water. In heat transfer medium, the copper ions can cause pitting corrosion of aluminum. Added the BTA-S to circulating water can prevent the copper ions from catalyzing the oxidation of glycol to form ethylene acid which causes severe corrosion.
Therefore, the BTA-S corrosion inhibitor is widely used in solar energy conversion systems, nuclear reactors and cooling systems of power plant boilers, automotive engines and combustion engines. When used with other inhibitors, a synergistic effect can be achieved to enhance the inhibition.
