After a hole is created in the glass, the sharp, circular edge around the hole needs to be either chamfered or beveled using a countersink bit. We supply a range of diamond countersink bits in diameters up to 65mm.

Countersink Bit with Stop Collar
Users can slip a stop collar on the drill bit, so that the countersink, also called a countersink bit, and collar set can carry out both drilling and chamfering simultaneously. The stop collar is designed to limit how far the drill bit can go into the glass.

There are other benefits to using a stop collar, as it allows one user to do two tasks (drilling and countersinking), which are traditionally done by two processes.

The countersink collar clamps onto any drill bit and the position along the length of the bit can be adjusted, depending on the depth to which the bit is allowed to drill. The countersink and collar combination works well on optical windows, stones, ceramics, and other brittle materials that require a beveled rim.

The drill bit can also be taken apart from the stop collar. The drill bit and collar assembly delivers a high level of flexibility, sharpness and wear resistance.
