Y820 Lifecasting Silicone
The lifecasting silicone, or RTV (room temperature vulcanizing) addition cure silicone rubber, is a kind of almost colorless translucent fluids. We can adjust its color as per the customer's request.
With good electrical property and chemical stability, the lifecasting silicone is water and weather proof, non-corrosive, non-toxic, tasteless, biological aging resistant, and physiologically inert. It allows easy pouring and operation as well as complete vulcanization. The silicone can meet mechanical strength requirement even if the hardness is low. Suitable for making printing pads, the lifecasting silicone provides low linear shrinkage and can keep its original hardness after long time use. Hence, it is especially suitable for lifecasting and printing pad making.

Note | 1. Put sample under room temperature for at least one hour before you take a proper amount of it for testing. Keep A and B at room temperature for one hour respectively before mixing them evenly in the ratio 1:1. Test the viscosity immediately. (For the fast cured type lifecasting silicone, delayed action activator is required.) 2. The cured test sheet should be no less than 6mm in thickness. 3. Mix A and B uniformly at a ratio of 1:1 under room temperature, and record the time when crosslinking reaction takes place in the mixture. 4. The test sheet is initially vulcanized with at least 2cm thickness, and it can be restored after extrusion. The cured sheet is made to offer standard mechanical property, which is tested by an electronic universal testing machine. |
The lifecasting silicone is used to make soft silicone products such as sex toys, body organs, breast enhancers, shoulder pads, and more, in addition to life casting. The silicone, also commonly found in the field of pad printing, is applicable to making silicone pads which are used as a pattern transfer carrier for plastic toys, electroplated products, electronic products, and trademarks, etc.
Packaging, Storage and Transportation of the Lifecasting Silicone
The lifecasting silicone is NOT subject to the provisions of the IMDG code. The shelf life of the silicone is 18 months from the date of production. And it can still be used after expiration when it is retested and proves to be acceptable.
The lifecasting silicone should be kept in a cool and dry place and packed in clean, dry and sealed steel cans or drums, in 5kg/can, 20kg/drum or 200kg/drum. Component A and B should be packed separately.
In order to ensure excellent curing performance, the lifecasting silicone should not touch or mix with nitrogen, sulfur, phosphorus, tin, and lead compounds, or metal organic acid salts. Otherwise, the catalyst will be poisoned, and then the silicone can not be cured or just partially cured.
