Moderate-strength All Aluminum Alloy Conductor
Overhead Conductor, Aluminium Conductor, AAAC
Applications
7 and 19 strand construction is suitable for bare overhead reticulation of medium spans, normally at low and medium voltages.
37 and 61 strand construction is suitable for transmission and subtransmission lines where homogeneous construction can reduce line losses and improve corrosion resistance in conductors with similar strength to ACSR types.
Features
Moderate-strength all aluminum alloy conductor has good sag characteristics, can increase the transmission tower span. It also has excellent resistance to overload and fatigue properties. Compared with the same diameter ACSR conductor, the vertical load of AAAC reduced by 10% with the equal horizontal load. Wire surface damage resistance. It has great corrosion resistance than ACSR, avoid electrochemical corrosion between aluminum and galvanized steel wire, thus have long running life.
Construction
Moderate-strength all aluminum alloy conductor concentric-lay stranded by aluminum wires of 230 ~ 265MPa tensile strength, similar in construction and appearance to 1350 grade aluminum conductors.
