Food packaging products, such as disposable airline cups, require a uniform wall thickness. It is for that reason that our mold features an independent cavity design, which is glued to a wear plate all around it to avoid any offsetting.
Because plastic food plastic food packaging products should feature a smooth surface, when the mold processing is finished, employees will fully and manually mirror polish the product. This ensures both the smooth surface and high transparency.
Case analysisThis customer is an American manufacturer of disposable products. In 2016, they needed to produce airline cups, and wanted a mold capable of producing 8 cups at a time, with a thickness of only 0.4mm. In order to prevent any mold offset, we designed an independent cavity that uses a cooling water line to surrounding the forming area, and thus, prevent offset. By doing so, we are able to guarantee the thickness of cups produced using our molds. This mold has now been used for more than 1 million cups, and is still in normal use.
