Carbon Black Grinding Application
Carbon black is a black powder extracted from raw materials with a high carbon content such as petroleum, asphalt, and natural gas. With an excellent coloring ability, electrical conductivity, and ultraviolet absorption ability, carbon black serves as an important industrial raw material used in the production of inks, toners, cosmetics, resins, rubber products and more. Carbon black usually needs to be thoroughly ground before use because the particle size and size distribution are important factors directly influencing application performance. A wider particle size distribution enhances conductivity, while a smaller particle size darkens the black shade for coloring. Specific particle sizes should be ground based on specific applications.
Carbon black grinding difficulty comes from the fact that carbon black is nano-sized, extremely soft, and prone to agglomeration.
The following indicates results for ultrafine carbon black grinding using our grinding mills. It is clearly indicated that ultrafine grinding using our grinders significantly reduces particle size and ensures a more uniform distribution.
