Corner radius end mills are generally come in 2-flute and 4-flute geometries, and they can be made from solid carbide or various compositions of high speed steel. These cutting tools are primarily used for making corner radii at the bottom of a milled shoulder. Corner radius end mill has a more robust cutting edge than square end mill, therefore feed rate can be increased and lead to extended tool life and enhanced productivity. In addition, corner radius end mills can also be applied in mold profiling applications and provide better productivity in comparison with ball nose end mills.
