5. Usage
The potassium formate liquid can be used for the following purposes:
a) widely used in oil industry as a high performance drilling fluid, completion fluid, and workover fluid.
b) in snow melt agent industry, because the acetate as additive leaves too strong smell of acetic acid after melting snow, and causes a certain degree of corrosion to the ground, it is gradually replaced by the potassium formate liquid, which has good snow melting performance while overcoming all the disadvantages of acetate. The application is praised by the public and environmentalists;
c) in the leather industry, the potassium formate is used as camouflage acid for chrome tanning method;
d) as a reducing agent in printing and dyeing industry;
e) the chemical can also be used as a grout hardening accelerator, as well as for mining, electroplating, crop foliage spray, etc.
6. Storage and Handling
Transportation of the potassium formate liquid should avoid rain, sun,and mixing with acid or oxidizing sustances. The use of crochet is forbidden, and the handling must be gently done. The chemical should be stored in a dry, ventilated warehouse, separately from alkali and oxidizing substances. Prevent water and moisture.
