Introduction
Thermally induced phase separation (TIPS) is a method for preparing polymer microporous membranes developed by A.J Castro in 1981. This method operates under a principle that involves the formation of a microporous membrane by separating the polymerized materials through a change in temperatures. The membrane pores obtained using this method are evenly distributed, and feature a high porosity, better strength, faster preparation speed and more diversity in the membrane microstructure. We offer polymer fiber spinning spinnerets suitable for TIPS, with the concentric distance being 0.003mm.

What is TIPS?
Thermally induced phase separation, also known as TIPS, is a process used to dissolve polymer, where the temperature is higher than the polymer melting point with a high boiling point and the low volatile solvent used (also called the diluent) has a temperature above the polymer melting point in order to form a homogenous solution. After cooling, the solid-liquid separation (or liquid-liquid separation) will form a subject with the polymer as the continuous phase, then will select the most appropriate volatile agent (extracting agent) to extract the solvent in order to get a specific structure shape of the polymer microporous membrane.
