Pelagic longline fishing is a commercial fishing method used to catch long-finned tuna, bigeye tuna, yellow-fin tuna, and sailfish. Fishermen attach snoods (or gangions) to the main line and the tips of these secondary lines are fixed with hooks and bait. The longline can reach several kilometers in length with thousands of hooks for large fishing vessels.
