Crankshaft Position Sensor
Crankshaft position sensor is one of the leading sensors in the car engine electric control system. The crankshaft position sensor is designed to detect crankshaft angle and the rotate speed of engine and send these information to car-borne controller. A series of voltage pulse will produced by the sensor when the crankshaft is rotating. And then the car-borne controller will control the fuel injecting system based on the voltage pulse to make the operations of fuel injecting system and ignition system are synchronous. However, crankshaft sensor may be damaged with the use of vehicles due to longtime working under the high temperature condition in engine. The impact is severe if the crankshaft sensor is damaged. Car ECU can’t set the normal igniting time and fuel injecting dose, which made the engine performance worse even can’t start. In order to avoid engine efficiency degradation, you’d better replace the faulted crankshaft position sensor as soon as possible.
